Jake Davey will bring back the Plumbers name for the Opening Day Tournament. His first overall selection was Zach Rohaley and on the trip back around he selected Damian Yenzi.
Jake Davey hit for a .405 average with nine home runs over 42 at bats last season. From the rubber, the one time Cy Wiff struggled. His ERA stood at 6.54 through 26 innings pitched. A bright spot from the pitcher's plate was there, however, as he struck out the second most batters in the league (14). On the fast pitch scene, Davey had his best year to date, with a .407 average, 3 home runs, and 21 runs batted in to
Zach Rohaley topped the league in strikeouts last season (15) and earned a 7-3 record over nine complete games from the rubber. With a league leading 47 innings pitched, he had a 4.26 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. In the box, Rohaley had a solid .314 average. In 2018, he was second in the league in home runs, with 29, and third in average at .620.
Damian Yenzi participated in two FWILL Tournaments, and is set for his regular season debut. On the Turkeys in the 2018 FWILL, he had the lone home runs for the team. A junior on the baseball team at Marietta College, he has garnered multiple accolades including an All-Conference honor. Over three seasons, he is a career .331 hitter with 390 at bats.
The Plumbers are not as high profile as the other teams, but have the ability to hang right there with them. They come in ranked fourth out of the five teams.
