Joseph Pitches and Hits Way to Player of the Day at Season Finale Tournament

Updated: Dec 20, 2020

Gino Joseph has been named the Player of the Day for the Season Finale Tournament after an impressive day on both sides of the ball. His individual success helped lead Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch to a tournament championship in the last regular season event of 2020.

Joseph threw four out of the five games for the Funky Bunch. He dominated in each of the four starts, as he went 4-0 and threw a complete game in all four. The right hander allowed just one run over the 20 innings pitched, and struck out 25 opponents, while walking just 5.

Joseph took the ball in the opening game and threw a two-hit shutout in a 7-0 dunking of Cookies and Gummies. He went 5-for-8 in the opener with two home runs, to get his day off to a hot start.

After Austin Berger pitched game two, the ball was all Joseph’s for the remainder of the day. In the final three games of their championship game run, he threw a one-hitter in each of them.

In the tournament semifinals, Joseph went 3-for-6 and bombed three home runs. On the day in the box, he hit for a .571 average (12-for-21) and launched 6 home runs.

This was the first Player of the Day honor for Joseph in his WILL career.
