Mothmen Trio Set To Make WILL Debuts

Updated: Dec 20, 2020

Brice Clark is set to bring along t. Wyatt Zuspan and Tyler Roush to Canonsburg on Saturday, from West Virginia, to make their debuts in the WILL. The trio is not new to the competitive wiffle ball scene however. Each of them have been members of the Huntington Wiffle League and Wild and Wonderful Wiffle in West Virginia, and have been a part of those league’s all star teams that made trips to the NWLA National Tournament.

Clark is the captain of the squad and will likely be the ace, as well. At the NWLA Tournament in 2018 he posted a 2-0 record from the rubber with a 4.00 ERA over 12 innings pitched. This past year, he struggled and allowed 14 runs over just 1.2 innings. From the batter's box, he hit .154 at the 2019 NWLA Tournament, and collected hits in four of the team's six games. Clark is a well traveled competitor, having played in Mid Atlantic Wiffle, Minnesota Wiffle Association, and more.

t. Wyatt Zuspan will be a force from the plate and a lockdown defender for the Mothmen on Saturday. He, like Clark, collected a hit in four of the team’s six games at the 2019 NWLA Tournament. Zuspan finished that event with a .103 average and one home run. That one home run came off of a pitcher that he will be seeing on Saturday, Austin Berger. In the 2018 NWLA Tournament, some say he was robbed of an All-Tournament fielder selection. He made multiple great plays, including leaps over the fence to save home runs.

Tyler Roush finished the NWLA Tournament with a .160 average from the plate. He legged out one of the tournament's few triples in a contest against BWACS. He has played in two national tournaments and two regional tournaments hosted by the NWLA, and is a career .333 hitter with 6 home runs over 87 at bats.

The Mothmen are familiar faces to the WILL, as they have faced off each of the past two years at the NWLA Tournament. We are happy to have them at our tournament and look forward to seeing them compete for the first, of hopefully, many times in Canonsburg.
