The Team: One Hit Wonders
Tim Marra (C)
Rob Licht
Cole Lanni
Pitching:
Tim Marra has verbalized the desire to have Rob Licht throw fastpitch in this Season Finale event. Licht has thrown both styles this season over 22 innings and has a 4.77 ERA. Cole Lanni made his debut at the Summer Showdown and threw 17 innings, struck out 10, and posted a 1.76 ERA from the medium pitch distance en route to a tournament championship. Lanni should expect a decent workload on the rubber this Sunday. Marra is always good for some spot innings, most notably for the 2018 NWLA National Champion WILL Waves, where he threw in the pool play finale against Indy Southside.
Hitting:
Cole Lanni is ready for his second career tournament. He comes in with high expectations, as he holds the league lead in batting average and was the player of the day three weeks ago. Lanni launched some moonshots in his debut, he totaled four home runs and had an OPS of 1.554, which is third in the WILL. Rob Licht finally got to see some medium pitch in 2020, and boosted his average over 100 points, up to .298 and he’ll look to keep that on the rise. Licht is tied for third in the league in long balls at 11. Captain Tim has one home run on the year and sits at a .200 average. He is destined for a breakout tourney.
Rob Licht and Cole Lanni were teammates last tournament, where they won the Summer Showdown title.
