Rob Licht is captaining a team for the first time in the 2020 season. He had the first overall pick and selected Chris Sarnowski. Then, with his second pick he took rookie Cole Lanni.
Licht comes into the third tournament looking to boost his average up from the .173 mark that it sits at. Averages saw dips across the board after tournament two, where fast-pitch was thrown nearly every game. He has seen some success from the rubber over 18 innings, with a 1.78 WHIP and 5.00 ERA.
Sarnowski has been dominant at both tournaments and was a clear choice for first overall pick. He leads the league in all six of the main pitching categories. He comes into the Summer Showdown with a 9-1 record, 0.83 ERA, 0.35 WHIP, and 72 strikeouts over 48 innings. Sarnowski has thrown every inning for his teams in the past two tournaments. He also leads the league in multiple offensive categories, including 31 hits and 15 home runs.
Lanni will make his WILL debut on Sunday. He comes in with limited experience in tournament play. He is the founder and operator of the Boneyard Wiffle Ball field in South Fayette, where he hosts and plays tournaments over the past couple of years.
