Mike Sullivan selected Opening Day champion, Steve Keelon, and league leading hitter, Justin Davey to form the Ninjas for the Summer Showdown this Sunday.
Mike Sullivan will lead a team for the first time and went offensive heavy in the draft. Sullivan was a solid medium pitch thrower at the Opening Day Tournament, where he threw 12 innings and went 1-1 with a 5.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP, while striking out 10. Offensively, he has had two solid tournaments with a .261 mark at Opening Day and .300 at the Battle in the Burg, which comes out to a .279 season average.
Steve Keelon will likely not see his pitching debut again this weekend, as he will be one of the go to arms for the leagues travel team at Mid Atlantic Wiffle this Saturday. He has been arguably one of the best bats in the WILL this season however. He led the Battle in the Burg by over .300 points in average, at .529. On the season he sits at .431 and has 12 homers, which are both good for third in the league.
Justin Davey was a member of the LumberKings on Opening Day and was one of their lone bright spots. He leads the league in batting average (.529) and on base plus slugging (1.776). He was the main arm for the Kings in the first tournament and could see some action on the rubber in the medium pitch variety on Sunday.
