Three weeks into the Wiff is Life League and the standings have tightened. The Splunkers have a narrow lead with 8.5 points, while five teams are knotted at five points apiece in the middle.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The Week 3 Player of the Week is ... James Lindow from the Splunkers.
Lindow was 12-for-16 (.750) with 7 home runs helping lead the Splunkers to the top of the league standings heading into the final week of the regular season ... Lindow had multiple home runs in three of the four games, including a 3-for-3 effort with three homers in a mercy-rule victory over the Replacements.

The Splukers sit alone at the top after taking down Canonsburg, the Replacement and Prestige World Wide. The Splunkers dropped a 1-0 game to the Oakdale Cuve in extra innings. The Splunkers boasted a run differential of 27-3 over their four games in Week 3.

The Ball Busters are the hottest team in the WILL, having won their last seven games. The Ball Busters beat Prestige World Wide (4-2), the third-place Chefs (11-8 on a walk-off home run by Dillon Musser) and the Replacements in a 13-0 crushing.

The Chefs lost a battle of top-three teams to the Ball Busters, 11-8 on a walk-off home run, before beating the Lumberjax, 12-5, in Week 3. The Chefs have three players hitting over .400 on the season in Jake Davey, Tim Marra and Nate Morris. All three of those players have an OPS over 1.300.

Oakdale beat the Noodles (6-2) and the first-place Splunkers 1-0 in extra innings on the bookends of a loss to the Space Cowboys. Buzza tossed a complete game and had the game-winning single in the top of the sixth against the Splunkers. The Curve will take on the Bees, winners of five straight, in Week 3’s Game of the Week on Sunday night.

Prestige World Wide wrapped up its 2024 regular season with losses to the Noodles, Ball Busters and Splunkers in Week 3, while beating the Lumberjax 7-0. Tyson Mead’s 2.291 OPS is second in the WILL, as is his 1.596 slugging. PWW, the 2022 runner-ups, will now play a waiting game for playoff seeding, almost guaranteed to be put in a play-in bracket.

The Lumberjax shut out the Replacements 8-0 before losing to Prestige World Wide and the Chefs. Mason Miles has the fifth-best ERA in the WILL and tossed 5 scoreless innings against the Replacements. With five points, the 'Jax have just one game remaining in 2024 against the Space Cowboys in Week 4.

The Noodles opened Week 3 with a loss to Oakdale before beating Canonsburg and Prestige World Wide. Matt Cottrill is seventh in the WILL in batting average at .576. Cottrill singled home Joey Balgo to down Canonsburg, 6-5, in extra innings, and the squad rallied for seven runs in the fourth to beat Prestige, 7-5.

The Space Cowboys went 4-0 in Week 3, going from tied for 12th in the standings to tied for fifth. The Cowboys put up 15 on High Heat and scored five runs in each of their games against the Curve, Valley Boys and Canonsburg. Cre Gardner and Mikey Sullivan each homered four times in the undefeated week for the Cowboys.

The Bees won both of their games in Week 3, taking down the Valley Boys and High Heat. The Bees have the second-best win streak in the WILL, and lead the WILL in team batting average, slugging, on-base, and OPS. The Bees will battle fourth-place Oakdale in the Week 3 Game of the Week on Sunday night.

The short-handed Replacements fell to the Lumberjax, Splunkers and Ball Busters in their three Week 3 matchups, all of which came against teams at the top of the standings. The Replacements failed to score a run in Week 3.

The Caucasians lost all of the Week 3 matchups, falling to the Noodles, Splunkers and Space Cowboys. Canonsburg did pick up a half point after an extra-innings loss to the Noodles, in which the Piechnick cousins combined for three home runs.

The Valley Boys dropped their first two games in Week 3 to the Bees and the Space Cowboys before picking up a 4-2 win over High Heat. Brendan Cruz pitched five innings and gave up two runs, while also going 5-for-7 from the plate in the Boys’ win.

High Heat went winless in Week 3, dropping games to the Space Cowboys, Bees and Valley Boys. Seth Edwards recorded 10 hits during Week 3, a team high. High Heat has finished their regular season and will be the 13 seed in the first play-in bracket, facing the 10 seed on a date to be determined.
