CANONSBURG, PA- Plans for the 2020 Wiff is Life League season have been announced. Commissioner of the WILL, Jacob Davey, has decided that the league in 2020 and beyond will be run by a committee of five veterans of the league. Davey stays on as a committee member and will be joined by Jordan Castelli, Mike Graziani, the league’s co-founder, Steven Keelon, and Nate Morris. The 2020 season will feature four tournaments, two of which have dates set.
Four tournaments will be the way the WILL is going to be played this summer. The tournaments will be stand alone tournaments. All players will sign up individually to each tournament and then will be drafted to a team before each tournament. Teams will be comprised of three players. Tournament formats will be dependent on the amount of teams at the event.
The committee was the correct direction for the league to move to for many reasons. A main point being that Davey has become more involved in the national scene. The five man crew will allow the league to get all the time, energy, and effort for it to be successful.
Tournaments one and four are set for Sunday, May 31 and Sunday, July 19, respectively. All the tournament dates are not yet finalized. All four official dates will be released once they are chosen.
The committee made its first vote of its existence to decide on the format for this coming year. The committee will continue talks over the off season to vote on rules and other facets of the league. The five members will be in charge of a certain aspect of the league over the season, ranging from media to equipment. Those duties will be determined soon and will be posted on the ‘About Us’ page of the website.
Players will have the option of signing up for all four tournaments or each one individually. Full season entry will be $40 per player, or $10 per tournament. Meanwhile, the entry fee for individual tournaments will be $15 per player. Sign up forms will be made and posted to the website once all the tournament dates are announced.
