Record: 6-6 (#5 seed)
How They Got Here:
Won some and lost some is the story of The Abyss’ regular season. The team full of WILL rookies went an even .500 on the year. They ended the season with two big wins turning the tide of their points dramatically. In the Week 4 finale they had a negative point on the line, but defeated the Banana Slugs to avoid that. Then, to cap off the regular season a Week 1 makeup game win over the Flamingos won them an extra point by completing the sweep of their Week 1 schedule. A three point swing in the last two games put them at a tie for fourth, but the team home runs tie breaker went to the Noodles, giving The Abyss the five seed.
Top Hitter:
Cam Kennedy led the offense for The Abyss. He smacked seven home runs and hit for a .545 average to lead his team. Kennedy is tied at the top of the league with five doubles heading into playoffs.
Top Pitcher:
Toby and Jake Kennedy seemingly split the pitching duties this year. Jake finished the season with the most innings, at 30.2. He threw seven complete games, with a 4.24 ERA and 1.48 WHIP.
How They Matchup:
The Abyss is in Bracket A and will play the fourth seeded Roman Noodles in the opening round. Top seeded Splunkers and a to be determined eight seed join them in Bracket B.

Abel Outduels Kennedy in Pitchers Duel For A Splunkers W
“Cree Gardner hit a first inning RBI double and that would be all the support Splunkers pitcher, Austin Abel, needed. Abel tossed 5 shut out innings, allowed 1 hit, walked 1, and struck out 6. Jake Kennedy was nearly just as good from the rubber for The Abyss. Kennedy allowed just one hit after the first inning Splunkers score. Cam Kennedy had the lone hit for The Abyss in their first career WILL game.”
