The Wiff is Life League Waves are set to compete in Mid Atlantic Wiffle’s Wiffle Wars this Saturday (July 11) in York, Pa. It will be the Waves second tournament of the season.
WILL starts the day bright and early at 8 am against the New School Risers. Then will oppose reigning MAW Season Champions, ERL, at 10 am. To finish pool play the Waves will face off with POC, who placed second at the Opening Day Tournament two weeks ago.
At that Opening Day Tournament the Waves went 1-2 in their 2020 debut. This tournament will be their fourth career MAW event.
The MAW Wiffle Wars will feature a 14 team field. Each team plays three pool play games to battle for a spot in a 10 team single elimination bracket. MAW rules allow unrestricted pitch speed and uses baseball size bats and scuffed Wiffle balls. It also forfeits running the bases, as it determines that by where balls are hit.
