Day 2 of the Wiff is Life League took place at Falconi Fields on Wednesday (June 12). The Beavers were the lone undefeated team on the day, going 3-0. Greyden Piechnick is arguably the reason they went perfect on the day. Greyden launched 12 home runs, while going 18 for 25 in the box.
In the opener, the Beavers battled the Splunkers. Piechnick batted 8 times and recorded 7 hits, 5 of those hits being home runs, en route to a 3 run victory.
A similar story in the second game. Piechnick batted 5 homers, while going 6 for 7 from the plate. The Beavers scored 12 runs in the second inning to roll to a mercy rule win over the 100 Thieves.
In the night cap, Piechnick went 5 for 10 but had his biggest hit of the night in his last at bat. The extra inning shootout rule came into effect in the game versus the Plumbers. It took until the 8th inning to decide the result and that’s when Greyden Piechnick hit a home run deep over the center field fence to give the Beavers the walk off 15-13 victory. The Beavers scored 9 in the 3rd to climb back into the game and it went back and forth all the way until the 8th.
With Piechnick’s big day he moved into second in the league leaders in home runs and hits at 17 and 31 respectively.
