Chris Sarnowski and Chris Sarnowski join Gino Joseph in playing in the FWILL Tournament this week! Yes, that roster is 3 people. Chris is Chris’ son. Younger Sarnowski goes by the nickname ‘Red’ and is a renowned player across the Wiffle world. Red plays in the Golden Stick Wiffle Yard League in Staten Island, NY, arguably the top medium pitch competition in Wiffle. He also plays in the Mid Atlantic Wiffle tournament league and competed in the Fast Plastic Nationals (scuff ball nationals) this summer. His father Chris is the “original Sarno”, according to Red. Mr. Sarnowski was a competitive Wiffle baller and competed at the highest levels just like Red is now. It is an honor for the WILL to be able to give him the opportunity to continue playing the game! The Sarnowski are from nearby McDonald, Pa. The brother / other son, Tyler Sarnowski may also be taking a crack at it with them this Friday, but his status is still unknown. Gino Joseph rounds out the roster. Gino is an up and coming young player in the Mid Atlantic organization. He played for the Revolution last season and was their bright spot in a rough year. This season he has been picked up by the Stompers, the two time and defending champions in MAW. Red and Joseph were in Canonsburg for some wiffs once before, when they participated in the MAW Canonsburg Classic. All of these players are accomplished fast pitch, scuff ball players, but clean ball medium pitch could be a whole different game. EHP is tested by the Bombers and Beavers in opening round games before it gets real in bracket play.
